I seem to be having a bit of trouble dressing myself these days. Because I like to walk to work, I typically bring more appropriate shoes in my bag and pull a Mr. Rogers-style transformation after I arrive. Yesterday, I forgot to bring socks.
Today, just as I was leaving the house, the button popped off my pants. Mary Ann has assured me that my belt should hide this problem, but that I should check from time to time to make sure everything that needs to be zipped up still is. So far, she’s right.

Lest anyone out there think I was negligent in some way, I did offer to re-attach the button--at most a two minute job--but Matthew was in a hurry this morning. . .
You forgot to bring socks? Does this mean that you were walking to work in your flip-flops? Perhaps Man-clogs?
I walk to work in sneakers, and then change later. I remembered the shoes, but not the socks. Thankfully, my pants were long enough that no one noticed that I was wearing white sports socks with black dress shoes. A combined benefit of large conference room tables, and very few meetings that day.
James had his eagle court of honor last month and I was in charge of bringing Jason an appropriate change of clothing since he had been sent to Atlanta to retrieve his grandmother at the last minute. I thought I had done wonderfully- I even brought a change of underthings in case he felt gross and sweaty from sitting in the car for 8 hours- I realised after he changed that I had forgotten his church shoes and he had to wear his sneakers up on the stand.
yeah, shoes are always the thing i forget, too. might i suggest black athletic socks? no one notices until you cross your legs.
I noticed at lunch yesterday that I had come to work in flip-flops. Embarrassing, but ohhh so comfy.
I've tried the belt thing, and it doesn't work. Maybe nobody notices, but maybe they do. It's nerve wracking!!
I arrived for an audition once and stepped into the men's room to freshen up before going out and I realized that en route somehow the seam in the crotch of my dark-grey wool suit slacks had opened up...and I was wearing tighty-whities. The entire time I was onstage I was cautious to take VERY SMALL STEPS and afterwards I essentially walked sideways offstage to avoid showing my derriere.
i wore a strappy dress and cardigan to work once, and one of the straps on the dress broke. there was not one saftey pin in the whole office. luckly i had a button that i had bought at a band's show in my purse, and i was able to fix my problem and show my punk-rock spirit at the same time.
