Hey, I've been in there once or twice. nice place-they're actually a children's bookstore.
Not too sure about the name though, but could be that it's a kid's shop...they've got a website www.kidshopandmustard.com with actual pictures of ketchup and mustard bottles :)
To whoever took this picture, I think it wouldn’t really have done you any harm to actually go in and ask about the place instead of posting such a picture and comment. It is a great place for kids to learn and enjoy their time with the wonderful staff in their. I am only saying that because most of the kids in my family go their and enjoy activities weekly. The name is very simple “a play on words” that isn’t too HARD to understand so sorry you didn’t get that buddy… KIDSHOP AND MUSTARRD staff: please open more shops so more kids can benefit.
Did you, by any chance, come up with the name for "Kidshop and Mustard?" It just seems odd that ANY OTHER PERSON ON EARTH would have hard feelings about a post questioning the store's name, unless he himself was the creative genius behind the title.
It also seems odd to suggest that someone go inside to ask a store what they sell...Shouldn't the sign on the front tell you that? With "Kidshop and Mustard," I can think of only two things they would sell: Mustard or Kids... Do the children in your family go there to buy mustard or other kids?
Mr. Anonymous Commenter, it was a pleasure to read your posting. Your wackiness gave me renewed confidence in my own sanity. I wish you well as you lurk throughout the Internet, posting your rants on random strangers' blogs... or, y'know, as you stand outside "Kidshop and Mustard," explaining the humor of the name to passersby on the sidewalk.
"A simple play on words", huh? I wish Mr. or Ms. Commenter would have let me in on the joke. Some of us are a little "less swift" when it comes to such things. Or am I the only one who has not yet gotten it? Unfortunately the link provided was not helpful, since no mention was made as to the story behind the name. It is a very cute site, though.
nice. you really don't know? it's a simple matter of reading the caption:
"Sorry for the glare from the flash, but I had to take this picture on short notice while in the car."
it was this guy 千奇百怪 (crazy chinese characters guy). also explains why he didn't go in, huh. he was in the car. probably driving. i'm just glad he didn't hit someone like this guy on the phone.

Oh, Joshua...um, yeah. I know that blogs are public and whatnot, but why do complete strangers waste their time reading about random people's lives. And then, apparently they have so much time on their hands that they comment on said random people's lives. GET A LIFE! It's a weird as hell name for a bookstore.
who knew that a pic taken from a car could be so controversial! i for one would like to point out that it is a cool little store and dont let the commentary on here prevent you from taking your happy children here. i bet you were stuck in infamous beirut traffic in the PASSENGER seat and could get a quick snap of a picture in of the shop. people sure are getting weirder about this than they have to be!
A picture from a car could raise controversy a suppose. But of a children's bookstore? Relax people, time is money. But if so, how come we have so much time and so little money?
Anonymous, I think you're the only one with so much time. We read the blog b/c we're related to the author (who is funny) or are connected so him in some other way.
From now on, I think I'm going to submit all my comments as "Anonymous." People who do that get a much bigger reaction that the rest of us who use our names (or monikers).
And when I'm bored, I could wander through Blogland aimlessly, leaving strangers comments like:
"Dear xxx, You're stinky. Love, Anonymous"
That would be fun...oh, wait. I'm never quite *that* bored...

Mustard, Huh? Is this like a hot dog with mustard?
Is it a play on "Ketchup and Mustard?"
oh.. cris, I think you are right. I have walked past this place a thousand times, and never got it.
Not that I think that it's a very good name for a children's toy store ....
