Dance for Mines

The title of this post is taken from the subject line of the email I received inviting me to take part in a certain event. The front and back pages of the brochure were included as attachments, which I have posted here.

So, yes, its pretty clear that they are talking about landmines. Interesting way to raise money, eh? The Lebanese do know how to throw a good party, that's for sure. What better than to combine it with a good cause?

The print is a little small- is it really titled "Dance Mine Action"? It makes me think of a stomping dance- which leads to the whole land mine issue.

Very funny.. they are handing these out all over town, we have several floating around our house, but I don't think it's our thing.

I agree that "dance mine action" conjures up some hilarious and disturbing images.

Oh I heard of this, the guy I did the photoshoot with is one of the photographers, he's been shooting the de-mining process for the UN lately. It's a good initiative, better than dancing for Baccardi to pocket the profits...
