Nooooooo

Now that I've been consorting with family and friends back in the homeland, I've noticed some Soutern accent tinges creeping into my speech. I find this odd since I lived there for 10 years without any issues. Weird.

Same thing happened to me when Megan came out to visit me in Utah.
I started hearing little southern twinges in my speach. Not to worry it goes away just as quickly.

I've lived in a not really the south place (Central Florida) my whole life, with occasionay jaunts to family in the Appalachians. Most people think I'm from Ohio or Pennsylvannia, but the South is there in my voice, in my choice of phrases and the way I construct sentences.

As long as I'm not wearing mirrored sunglasses, everything is ok ;>

Back when I first met Matthew I noticed that when he called home the cadence of his speech changed, not the pronunciation. Is this something new?

I'm from Central Florida too and pople are almost always wrong when they try to guess where I'm from. I think part of that is because I'm a singer and in the habit of enunciating well. My family aid that I staryted to pick up some of the southern accent after living in Linville and Boone for a few years. I like southern accents. Wish I had a genuine one. My husband thinks it makes him sound unintelligent, so he dropped his after a mission to Japan.

I think that a southern accent is a plus. The chicks dig it....out west anyway.
