Fishing along the corniche in Beirut is a popular pastime. I'm not really sure why they do it though, most of the fish are really small...

This scene is the Dora highway in the area of Harissa at night.

I really don't know what this sign is trying to communicate. It's clearly a typical funeral wrapping, but maybe an Arabic speaker can translate exactly what they are trying to get across...

I believe it says

"You who have left prayer
Pray before they pray on you."

(the bottom may actually be "pray before you are prayed on.")

Basically the sign is saying for those who don't pray, they should before it's too late. Great pix

It's apparently Arabic for "Have you accepted Christ as your personal Savior?"

I'd take in the popular pasttime for the beauty of it alone. Great pics.

The first translation is accurate. It basically means that if you are not a practicing Muslim, you should start practicing before it's too late. Jeez...

well , to be more precise .
In islam when a person is dead , people who know him pray "on him " i.e. pray for his soul to rest in peace and for god to forgive him.
The picture say "Pray before they pray on you ".
It is a DIRECT THREAT .
